Hi all
If you have evaluated different platforms to host a professional community, where the goal is for members to learn, network, collaborate and succeed.
Which platform would you use?
P.S - At Unsolved.network, we are building a professional community tool. Think of it as launching a private curated Linkedin . We would love feedback :)
I've been actively looking for something that combines slack/discord with online forums like reddit/discourse. Basically giving the ability to flow and alert people like slack but make threads important to build up shared knowledge.
We're building something along the lines of this, you can check it out here — http://demo.gardens.to
Yeah, interesting. I like the idea of having forums as channels in something like Slack or Discord. Any reason you are rebuilding rather than adding that functionality in terms of an app for Discord/Slack? Maybe its not possible?
Discord/Slack is synchronous first, and we wanted to create an alternative to explore async/flexible modes. Digital communities change over time and we think the tools should reflect that.
Would you be game to try us out at www.unsolved.network. We have a threaded feed for the entire to community to interact on and a whatsapp like chat for sub groups to interact.
We also take a single feed approach instead of a multi channel approach. So members have to just scroll to catch up
Looks interesting. I'd rather see it in action first that have to go through all the hassle of setting up my own. Since that is a significant amount of work.
Do you have one that people interested in unsolved.network can join?
There is a demo community you can access by visiting this link http://avengers.unsolved.network/invite
And thanks, I will Add "Join a demo community to the home page"
there are quit a few tools... i have a few listed here: https://github.com/yenio/handbook/wiki#resources-to-build-your-business--community
This is a great list, thanks for sharing. I am checking out a bunch of stuff that you have up there.
P.S - Would you be open to adding us to the Community platforms list.
