Launch on ProductHunt Today! 🎉

Since the feedback is quite good after launching on IH and subreddit, I decide to launch 3sName on Product Hunt. I don’t aim high to be the top product of the day. As a passionate maker, I just want to keep shipping in the public. Learn Fast, Ship Fast, Grow Fast! 🔥

This time, the product is simple but it can help most SaaS founders like me. After researching, I found that there was a market for business name generators. The market leader is having around 250,000 visitors per month. I feel really surprised by the figure. Though I am not sure if these products can monetize the traffics. 📈

Finding a suitable name looks like a simple problem. But it’s a common issue that every founder must go through it. For me, I’m trying to scratch my own itch. Let’s see how far I can go!🚀

I’ll keep you guys updated! Please upvote on Product Hunt: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/3sname/

Hey! I’m going to launch my own product soon. I have been considering launching my platform on Product Hunt.
Do you think it’s better to have an already existing user-base before coming live on product hunt?

It depends on your purpose. Some companies launch on PH after a few years. They can get on top of the day with the existing user base. I believe they want to expand their marketing reach with PH. They can monetize the traffics if the product passes PMF.

Some makers just launch on PH to get feedback & validate the idea. My product is so simple that I don't want to wait.

Ok. Thank you for the insight. Best of luck.

Good luck 🤞. Which method do you use to actually generate names?

I was using a mixed strategy. At first, I was thinking a generic name like xxxNameGenerator.com, "xxx" stands for "SaaS", "Startup", etc. However, it was too boring.

The name is definitely good for SEO, good for Google indexing. But I want a name for human instead of machines

So I was thinking for a fun name with the meaning of fast, easy-to-remember, short, domain is available, cheap domain, preferably in 2 voices.

I was trying 10sName at the beginning (domain still available), coz 10s is easy to remember. However, 10s is quite slow in today's expectation. I tried 1sName, 2sName, 3sName, 5sName, etc. .name tld is also available but my target domains are not available. I tried for a while and gave up.

      Finally, I settled with 3sName.com.

Personally, I am quite interested in animal names but I don't have chances to try it yet.

Hi @bennychan thanks a lot for the explanation. Unfortunately I wasnt clear enough. I meant more the startup names 🙈

I just define different words like "open", "pig", "happy" and append to user inputs. The startup names are generated in the frontend so it's fast.

I was thinking of generating some cool generic terms like particles, atom, galaxy, etc but I don't know how to do it. LOL. I don't know how to get these terms automatically.
