Since I launched AffTable, I am thinking of ways to collect case studies. Instead of finding case studies of other makers, what about conducting experiments myself?
If I can make some money with affiliate programs, it can demonstrate affiliate marketing is not a scam.
So I start to develop a small product, 3sName. 3sName.com is a simple SaaS Product Name Generator. After that you input a related word, hit "Enter" and 3sName will give you inspiration.
If a user clicks on a link, it will redirect her to NameCheap website. If the user purchases a domain, I can earn a small commission from the order.
To be honest, I am not sure if there will be any serious money generated. Hope I can get more data and share it with you!
After 2 weeks from ideation to development, AffTable is finally launched on ProductHunt!
In total, I spent 7 days in data collection and cleaning, 3 days for building the site. To save the development time, I stored the data in a spreadsheet and generate the site with a tool. In total, I spent 10 days to finish the project.
The hard part is dealing with the domain. Many possible names are dominated by domain hoarders. I tried to come up with a name AffiliateWorld, AffiliateHunt but these domains are all registered and placed with a skyrocket price tag. After asking on some communities, I found that "Aff" was the short form of Affiliate from a subreddit. A new site "AffTable" was born!
After preparing the resources for launch, I set a scheduled launch on PH at 2:30am (Pacific time). Hopefully, I can get some upvotes from ProductHunters!

With the help of sheet2site, I can manage to finish the website within 2 days. Basically, I just purchased and mapped the domain. Fill in the data inside the spreadsheet and boom! everything goes live! https://www.afftable.com is born!
The MVP is very simple. It just has the home page to show all programs with category filters and a detailed page to visit the official program page and leave a comment with disqus.
The next step? I will create a product page on IH, makerlog and launch AffTable on PH soon! Though I don't know how many bloggers, influencers, podcasters are on PH, it can help to validate the idea from the public.
When I was trying to write long blog posts for my previous product, I tried to add some affiliate links to compensate for my cost. When I was searching for the affiliate programs of different companies, I didn't that there wasn't a centralized directory to list these programs.
If I can put this information into a listing, it may be useful for other content creators like me. So I just spent a week to collect data from 100 SaaS companies. More than 60 of them have affiliate programs.
When I was writing my blog posts, I found that there wasn't a listing of affiliate programs from SaaS companies. So I create it and hopefully, other content creators can use it to monetize their content.
