Turn web links into useable data
I realized that if I wanted to create a product using APIs, there was no one-stop-shop platform I could sign up for to rapidly use API endpoints without signing up on different websites and end up paying a lot!
Alright, I finally did the thing! 😄
Like most creators on here, one of the biggest milestones to overcome and accomplish is to publish your project to Product Hunt! This will either make or break your project, as users that are on there are knowledgeable, critical, and can validate your product!
Took much longer than expected to launch this thing, but we finally did it!

So, like most things on the internet, spam is a problem! I quickly realized that when I started getting my platform out there in the world.
I added the hCaptcha solution to my sign-up forms to deter spam accounts. Hard to know which is a real person and which is fake. This has helped a bit!
Highly recommend using hCaptcha as they are privacy-focused, unlike other captcha solutions :D
Alright, first feature on Betalist!
Submitted my project on there and got an email saying my little project was featured! Super awesome so see it being worthy of a feature, and got me a good amount of traffic!
Also got me to figure out a bug in my code where it wasn't using user sessions, and I was getting crash errors!
Now it's fixed, so that was super helpful to see that!
Well, let's keep going!
It took about 2 months of solid coding, but I'm finally done building the minimum viable product! I worked mostly nights and weekends, and I coded the whole thing in ASP.NET since that's that I'm the most comfortable with. In hindsight, there were a few features I built that probably could've waited until later. But I'm excited to start talking to customers and see what they think about the product so far! Fingers crossed!
While I was looking for SAAS ideas, I realized that if I wanted to create a product using APIs, there was no one-stop-shop platform I could sign up for to rapidly use API endpoints without signing up on different websites.
That's when the idea came! How about I create the SAAS platform I was searching for, which was the one-stop-shop for parsing data on the web! Bingo!
And on to the drawing board I went!
