It's been roughly 1 year since I've launched Pixel True and overall I'm happy with the progress of the business.
Our revenue comes from a mixture of sales from the Illustration Packs and the Unlimited subscription service.
I really feel there's so much potential with this business, in particular with expanding the illustration pack business to also include UI Web/App designs. The vision is to create a full-suite of tools that allows a business owner to build a stunning website without breaking the bank.
That's awesome. Can you share your distribution strategy? How do people find out about you? And how did you bootstrap it initially to get your first users?
Hey there!
It was a mixture of a lot of releasing free content like (www.pixeltrue.com/free-illustrations) and cold email marketing :)
Congrats Andy! Been watching your progress from afar, proud of the progress you’ve made so far!
Cheers @import_freddie!
Could you share a little bit more of your business side?
Like,
How much is your net profit?
How much clients do you have?
How much do you pay employees (do you outsource)?
Awesome job! I like your illustrations!
Congrats!
Free illustrations are good though. Can u share free subscriptions vs paid subscriptions ratio?
Congrats! How did you manage to gain initial traction and attract clients? Especially with so many other graphic design productized services around which charge lower?
With Pixel True I tried to move away from the "fast food" design services - that provide decent work for low prices.
Our unique value proposition is providing high-quality design services. So we spend a lot more time on hiring and vetting. But also pay our designers a lot more!
In terms of initial traction it was a lot of cold-email marketing and outreach on facebook groups :)
Nice! I've tried cold emails but its not really worked. I'm sure it's a numbers game though so maybe should give it another try.
Amazing.
Is your VP about selling design services or design tools?
Good question! It's a mixture of both :) I consider the illustration packs and design service different businesses but under 1 brand :)
What makes more money?
Congrats @speedpoint on the latest milestone and crossing the $150K+ ARR. I've seen quite a few unlimited design monthly design agencies.
Any plans to extent it to maybe front-end coding like Angular/react? or even Wordpress?
Thanks @Nakkeeran!
Do you mean offering a dev service on top of the design servce? If so, we also offering web development in webflow :)
Hey @speedpoint yes indeed.
Ah, that's nice. I couldn't see Webflow being mentioned in the website.
