I announced the course on Medium to get more traction.
Now my Medium followers may not be my target audience as most of them were attracted by my Flutter article.
I was into mobile development then, and posted a simple solution to a niche problem that nearly all Flutter devs will encounter.
However, based on my conversation, some mobile devs do actually want to learn about SQL, so they may be converted to my customers. I will find out.
I talked to a few potential customers and built a landing page: https://backtosql.com
I posted the question on Developer groups and got some good discussions about the importance of SQL. That made me realized that there could be a market for a course.
I decided to act, purchased the domain and put together a landing page. The goal was to launch and get quick feedback on the content before I record all the courses.
