Events are all about bringing people together, exchanging ideas, and of course serendipity. But the bar to set up a real-life event is too high and virtual events feel like a compromise. We're fixing this.
It's been some long hectic months, but we finally launched Balloon in Beta! We're still working around the clock to fix some issues here and there but overall, it's looking solid!

Virtual events are here to stay! As I mentioned, we're still in Beta, so still working on building some features (well, this is kind of never-ending really, right? :-P ) but you can go right now on https://www.joinballoon.com/, create an organization, and start creating events. Customize your event, add your branding, set up live streaming stages, networking, and preview the event experience on our events web app. We would love to hear your thoughts!
After thousands of lines of code, countless Slack chats, and Google Meet calls, our product is finally shaping up and all the individual components start to integrate with each other! Our Balloon Manager (the area where organizers can create events) is fully functional and close to completion. Of course, there's always some polishing in the end before launch, but things are looking good!
Products don't build themselves. It's talented people, with hard work and passion for their craft that built great products. And we know that well. After a lot of research, hours of interviews, and calls, we were lucky enough to build a team of super-talented individuals that we love working with!
After a lot of research on how to implement the core features of the platform (live video streaming, etc.), we started putting together the skeleton of our product. Just the things we knew we would need, without really going into much detail. And from there on, we could start shaping the product.
We had been thinking about different ventures we would like to pursue, some of them really out there, others more realistic. But after a while, we thought, "why don't we just try and solve a problem that we understand and know really well?". We had to look no further. We complimented each other perfectly, and the timing couldn't be more right (for unfortunate reasons, with events being canceled all over). So, we set out to tackle virtual events!
