BassDrum

BassDrum was a fun little experiment, and we learnt a lot building it and bringing it to people.

BassDrum has since been shut down because the functionality it offered is now available as part of PrimeVideo itself, and it's no longer available in the chrome store.

Thank you for the wonderful support — it was surely a fun ride!

Within a couple of days of launch, we have reached our first 100 room events (created a room, or joined a room)!

For a launch as humble as ours, this is truly a surprise! We are glad people are installing and using BassDrum. We are already thinking about the next version! 🔥

This is freaking me out!

I have no idea what to expect — I'm worried my server will crash, but I kinda want it to crash as well 😅 I hope people like it.

In any case, it's out there now. Posting on my social media, and telling my friends is about the extent of marketing I'm doing for this. Fingers crossed 🤞

A tweet, a one-page website and a post on IndieHackers later, BassDrum is now accepting applications for private alpha.

I am calling this v0.2, and it's little more than just a screen-grab of me showing the pause-play sync feature on two side-by-side windows: I have a MVP that actually works! 🎉

Goal for this stage: a very modest 5+ people signing up for the private alpha.
