I always felt sad about Twitter's search tools. Mainly because I consider Twitter a treasure trove of new ideas and customer opinions.

March 8, 2022 First paying customers

Totally forgot to post the "first paying customer milestone." But hey, let's make it the "more paying customers milestone" then!

Actually, Birdspotter has more users than paying customers. The complete picture is:

  • 2 paying
  • 1 churned
  • 0 trialing
  • plus 4 early birds 馃グ with free access

My goal: get to 10 paying.

January 26, 2022 Birdspotter is live

It's still quite unreal. But I have a live product now.

After about eight weeks of beta testing, I was confident enough to soft launch the product officially. Within those eight weeks of testing the core functionality, I implemented everything related to payment and subscriptions.

That phase was followed by another two to three weeks of testing the "real" product. And since the end of January, my first SaaS is open to the public.

November 9, 2021 Beta link sent to waitlist

It took some months filled with other projects and more distractions, some confusion about what to do for early validation, and a steep tech learning curve.

Yet today, I sent out the link to the beta version to everyone on the waitlist. Which means to 20 people I highly appreciate :)

Now I'm very nervous. Will the tech work out as intended? Does the tool provide value? What will the feedback be? Will there be any feedback at all? So nervous.

May 27, 2021 Landing Page and Waitlist

I always felt sad about Twitter's search tools. Mainly because I consider Twitter a treasure trove of new ideas and customer opinions. So I will set out to tackle this problem.

My mission is to provide the best Twitter search experience. Primarily for indie hackers, bootstrappers, and small businesses.

Today, I officially announced a new project I'm going to build in public: https://birdspotter.net
