I have been writing about my path, the absurdity of work, how people struggle with their relationship with work, and possible ways forward in this new strange world that don't undermine meaning for people

September 25, 2021 Sold my 2nd ad ever to AppSumo for $300

Ended up selling my second add via SwapStack to AppSumo to run in my newsletter. This also means that I'll generate about $700 this month from my newsletter which is crazy considering I'd never planned to make any money from my newsletter when I started.

September 13, 2021 Passed 5,000 Subscribers

Thanks to a shoutout from Ali Abdaal, I ended up getting 700 new subscribers in less than a day. This was the biggest jump I'd ever received on my newsletter in any one week. Having been on his podcast with his brother and connecting with many of his followers, this was great as they all seem to be smart, curious fellows.

May 25, 2021 Ran my first paid ad from Foster

Ran a paid ad from the great people at Foster for $100. I think it led to a couple of conversions for them so that was great too. I had been quite nervous to run ads on my newsletter but a couple people sent positive notes saying they just want to see me keep writing. Hooray!

July 2020 Published Issue #100

I used this issue to write about my call for 100x more creators arguing that the people that we find cringe are the ones that are going to share anyway and the fact that we find them cringe means that we have the impulse to do better. Seem to have inspired a bunch of people.

January 31, 2019 Switched from Mailchimp to Substack

Loved the simple interface and easy ability to pay integrated into substack so I decided to switch. Also enabled me to let people offer payments on substack instead of Patreon which I didn't love because it was a closed platform. Switched with ~600 subscribers.
