Canopy Charts
Visual editor for creating beautiful, dynamic charts
As a fullstack engineer, I've spent tens of hours tweaking configurations for chart libraries to build custom charts for web apps. I know there is a way to build better charts, faster.
I released Canopy Charts to the public 3 months ago, and today I reached 10 organic signups! I've been working on some initial marketing strategies in parallel with a small amount of feature development. So far I've created a Twitter account for the product (@canopycharts), bought a small spend on Google AdWords, cold emailed about 50 people, and started publishing a newsletter.
The site gets between 5-10 hits per day, and I'm not sure where the traffic comes from.
Over the past two weeks I have had great conversations with a few people who really need a better charting solution to get their product up and running, and it looks like the first paying users of Canopy Charts are not far off :)
Exciting times!
I coded up a prototype that implements a general and extensible system for quickly building good looking charts! This is a big deal because it reduces much of the technical risk of the project - now I know I can build the vision I have in my head.
Even without paying customers yet, this is a motivating achievement because it gives me a strong product foundation that I'm proud of and can keep building on top of!
