I made it during the pandemic because I was isolated and felt like I had no one to reach out to so I made an app that solves that problem.

January 13, 2021 Officially launched on iOS

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/chai/id1530962229

Now that I've launched on both Android and iOS I'm going to take a break for a week because I think I need a break. Then I'm going to start finding people who could use my app.

Next Steps:
Figure out subs on reddit that can contribute to making Chai a better community for people to have discussions about stuff on their mind.

December 16, 2020 I feel like I can do this today. I don't know why

I redesigned my app to something that just makes a lot more sense but keeps the important parts. I got 500 people to sign up and lots of people used it at the beginning but over time less and less people were using it. Now I've started work on implementing a few critical new features before launch that I'm certain will drive user interaction. My goal with this post is to remind myself that the goal before launch is to get as many people to download as possible and get as many people to stay as possible. Both are critical to the usability of the app and you only get one shot.

December 2, 2020 500 Signups

I made a post on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/jxc6z2/i_made_an_app_to_improve_your_mental_health/

I learned that a lot of people are interested in my product and it motivates me to work on it because they are looking forward to me making it. I also got a lot of feedback on how to improve the product as its still in beta

November 18, 2020 Finished MVP

I've been working on this almost full time for the past 6 months or so. Started a new job during this process and have continued working on it part time. Super happy to finish something that people can use. I've also been fortunate enough to get a really good response from my launch which is really exciting.

May 18, 2020 Came up with my idea

I graduated college in April and moved to a different city than my college city. I felt pretty alone because I didn't have a lot of friends and its hard to spend time with people because of the pandemic. I honestly just thought it would be a cool way to always have someone to talk to. The idea also helped me have something to do since I literally had nothing to do after graduating (I started my new job in September)
