Still only one customer

Struggling to find another customer. Product is marketed as chatbot platform but It's very hard to say what It is. People don't know how to build good chatbot. But they want to have chatbots. Working on pre-made scenarios for small eshops.

Hope that will help

How did you get the one customer?

I think this is key. You just need to figure out one repeatable way to get customers, and slowly build on it. Don't give up yet! One customer means there are others out there.

Talk to the customer. Ask them what they thought when they first got to your site. Were they convinced instantly to sign up? If not ,what were their concerns? Try to address those on your landing page or onboarding flow.

thanks! I got my first client because I made this tool for them.
I was asked to make chatbot as developer. But I made an agreement that I would rather build platform and sell chatbot as a service...

I agree with the other commentators, you must have a marketing page/landing page to explain your product if you want any kind of organic growth. Otherwise, you'll have to direct sell the product which takes a lot of time.

I don't agree that landing page is necessary especially in very early stage when you are finding who is your customer is a lot easier to look for people you want to work with and target on them... To solve their problems

Well then you'll have to focus on selling directly to your customer through for example cold selling or other ways. By the way, your landing page does not have to be ultra target or perfect, all you need is a page that explains your product and perhaps some use cases, because otherwise I see no way that you'll get any organic growth except perhaps through referrals.

wow, thank you all for comments! Happy to hear feedback Didn't expected to get this amount :-))

Reason for not having landing page is simple - I didn't know who my customer will be / is. So how I should make landing page? If I didn't knew who I'm targeting.

It was hard to understand that If I can't find segment of businesses which is attractive for me I need to be more specific. But it came So with that also came idea of pre-made scenarios for small ecommerces.. After that I have contacted few possible clients by email. And I'm working on pilots with them. It saved me a lot of time - contacting them directly by email than building landing page and trying to make them visit it.

Totally get the logic there, it's a chicken and the egg thing: it's hard to get your messaging perfect without knowing your customers though without a page to view the benefits of your features it's very hard to get customers.

Creating a splash page can be done in minutes though with just a bit of effort that can give you a pretty good return on knowing who your ideal customers will be. With a free page builder and $50-100 on a Google ad campaign you could get some leads and start generating a user base and really learning from them at scale.

When it comes to the content of the page, start with the basics:

What does the product do? You said chatbots, are these chatbots for a website? Do you provide a CRM or way to collect contacts from the chatbots?

There are a growing number of chatbots out there - what separates you from them?

Answering those questions gives you all the content you'd need for a landing page, happy to connect and chat more if you want!

thanks for you time guys! Yes I was thinking about making landing page but I wasn't sure who is my customer. So It was hard to position "platform for creating chatbots" via landing page.... I was also struggling how to explain how the chatbot creation site works to my friends who are technically oriented... Now when I have specific group of business I'm targeting is a lot of easier to progress

      Same issue here.

@samko don't feel too bad, it's happened to me as well. It's hard to remember to test your site both as a visitor and as an existing member.
