Today I acquired my 50th user for my product 🎉 Although this might not seem like a large milestone, it's been a long time in the making.
When I initially had the concept for my product, my focus wasn't on building a product, but instead was on build a community.
Being a digital marketer aspiring to create a community-based platform for other digital marketers, I create a Facebook group and used it as an MVP. I invited others within my local network to join the community.
Throughout this time, I also continued posting as much valuable content on my personal blog (lachlankirkwood.com) as possible to acquire users through my email list.
At the beginning of the year, I also created a gamified quiz using typeform to collect leads for my product launch.
As my product aims to help digital marketers build their personal brand, the quiz was an assessment that would score a users personal brand, then deliver them an eBook with valuable suggestions on how to improve their performance.
After scaling the Facebook group and collecting leads for a year, I decided it was time to build my product using Bubble (see previous milestones).
Since launching a month ago, I've now migrated 50 of these users onto my invite-only platform.
To be transparent, I've experience a high churn rate from users who had original joined my Facebook group a year ago and were no longer active.
My next challenge is going to be focussed on finding a way to turn these 50 users into active users.
I'm also now focussed on scaling my user base outside of my personal audience.
