We launched ClipDish a couple of weeks ago. I'm taking the Paul Graham approach of doing things that don't scale. As part of this effort I began reaching out to various professional groups I belong to.
Within minutes of posting to a private mailing list in the Philadelphia area I was contacted by a reporter. She's a food lover and the lead reporter for Technically Philly and wanted to do a profile on our app.
What did I learn? Well, it validated the "do things that don't scale." This experience was also a reminder that early customer growth should always start with the people in your network.
