An indie hacker's dream is coming true: ClubLink.to takes on a life on it's own - in a good sense. Every day it's growing by a substantial amount. Without putting much effort into it. Today, we celebrated the 1000th event promoted!
A few hours later, it's almost at 1150 already!
Today is the day! We finally made it to ProductHunt!
Among us, numerous other interesting projects launched today! Including four other Clubhouse-related projects! The hype is real!
We would love to hear from you in the comments section ⌨️. Link below!
We planned to launch on ProductHunt today. But this didn't go as planned. The different time-zones caused plenty of confusion and we ended up realizing our launch is actually 24 hours later (Ehm, okay :D).
Well, the day still ended with a massive firework. TechCrunch reached out and featured us!! 🤯️ Still can't believe it 🤯️
After the domain was registered, we didn't wait long to work. Jens tested the MVP and I fixed any issues he had discovered. Over the next few days, he also used his professional network to introduce the ClubLink.to to others. The voices were very positive and we felt stronger about the idea every day!
After a week's time to think, we finally decided on a name: Clublink.to! We have been considering various other names. But finally decided to go with the Clubhouse hype and opted to keep it simple. Straight to the point and ".to" gives it a neat little mental bridge.
Version 1 was quite literally a centered input field with a button. A lot like my very first indie hacker project startupnamecheck.com :D
With one click, it fetched the Clubhouse event, parsed the data and made a super simple image. Nothing fancy, but it worked.
Beginning of January, Jens (https://jens.marketing) reached out to me. He was keen to run an idea past me. We have known each other for a while through my project PageExplorer.net. Without much context, I jumped onto a call with him.
We spent an hour discussing work, side-project ideas and more. The idea, in essence, is to build a link shortener for the upcoming app - Clubhouse.
I was intrigued by the idea to build something small (as usual) and work with someone whose experience in marketing clearly exceeded mine 😄️. Moreover, building stuff in my own little bubble is great for a while but not ideal. The constant dual battle between creating and marketing means slow progress.
