Reach 3 figures in ad revenue

September 2019 is the first month where ad revenue has passed $100 with $103.91. Registered impressions as per my publisher console were 51,990 that's a CPM of around $0.50.

This has come as a result of organic growth where I've gone from under 2k hits a day in April/May 2019 to over 3k (now close to 3.5k per day). Total pageviews this month were up to 82k, of which 70k (~85%) were organic (Google Search).

My weekly post cadence for months and identifying topic and keyword opportunities through the Google Search console has led to consistent growth.

Content that's started ranking quite high recently:

  • add days to a date in JavaScript
  • exclude line/file/statement from coverage in Jest

Other revenue:

  • MentorCruise: $80
  • Sequelize ES6 Cheatsheet: $14.97, 3 sales
  • Medium Partner Program: $3.68

Total this month: $202.56

    Nice work!

Would be interested to know a little more about how you've acquired the organic growth.

I write content that I wish I had found when searching for an issue. It comes out at a weekly cadence (I miss some weeks but it's definitely close to every week).

Especially if there isn't currently a blog post out there detailing it (ie. The answer is on StackOverflow, GitHub Issues or source code).

I also use themes and Google Search Console terms to find out which queries my pages rank for but don't actually answer and write that content.
