First Users

Alexander Richey @AlexanderRichey

Last week, I received my first real users on Convo (https://hiconvo.com). I distinguish these users from the others and believe they are significant because they are people from outside my social circle completely. Up to now, all of my users have been friends and family who have signed up , by and large, because they want to support me. But these new users signed up all on their own and not because of any special relationship with me. They signed up, one would presume, because the product actually looked interesting to them — this feels encouraging.

I announced Convo on Twitter and Facebook last Monday. After a day of almost no activity, I went to sleep feeling a bit disappointed. My expectations weren't high, but I expected at least a few likes and retweets.

When I woke up the next morning, I found that there were a few retweets, a couple responses, and a ton of likes on Facebook. I checked Convo's database to see if anyone had signed up and saw three new entries with names that I had never heard before.

Over the next week, just from those two posts on social media, four more people outside of my social circles have signed up, which means that Convo is currently averaging one new user a day, which exceeds what I expected after just one week.

Now the task, in addition to continuing to drive adoption, is to make sure that these users have the best experience possible on Convo.
