After two weeks of research, writing, editing, and designing, my single-page website is finally complete. It's time to launch.
The site is built with a WISYWIG WordPress editor from Thrive Themes. It's been an age since I did web design, but here we are, I made it through.
During my research (the first step of writing any good web copy), I found Roast My Landing Page - a competitor site, and an exceptionally good one. It was great to see that there's already a demand for this!
I've positioned myself differently, offering a written report that will allow customers to make impactful changes quickly without having to re-watch the video reviews.
Here we go!
Like so many creators on this forum, I first tested the waters by seeing if there was any interest in a copywriting and conversion skillset. Founders are overwhelmingly technical - would they value advice on writing?
Turns out yes! Six people replied to my thread. I had initially intended to send quick 5-minute reviews of their landing pages, but I ended up going deep at 20 minutes a pop.
This was one of the most valuable business lessons I'd ever received. From it I gained my first two customers.
