We built Doki because we needed a way to create onboarding sequences and evergreen courses for our consulting business. In the past year we've opened it up publicly and it's now a part of our own consulting and training.

January 5, 2019 New Zapier app

To start the year off, we shipped a new version of Doki's Zapier application (docs here).

This adds a new trigger link called "auto_drip". This trigger link fires when an auto-drip sequence unlock happens for a specific user in Doki.

Some of our customers are using this to send emails or log events in other applications when content is delivered to their students on a auto-drip timeline.

Also added "created at" timestamps to all zapier user payloads in this release.

November 2018 Bonjour! ¡Hola!

Doki's courses and landing page experiences (including platform emails) are now available in French and Spanish. We got a number of new customers in Latin America, and—being a Canadian company—a fair number of our French-speaking compatriots signed up, so we thought it was about time we gave them an experience that spoke better to their customers.

If I learned anything from this experience it's SET UP YOUR APPLICATIONS FOR internationalization from the get-go. Adding it after the fact was a nightmare!

October 22, 2018 Discourse Integration v2: Groups!

There's now a new ability to create "Groups" in Doki; this is nice for admins to be able to segment people into groups based on which package they've purchased, but it's also part of our the new version of the Discourse integration.

Now when you connect your Discourse installation to your Doki account, you can automatically add folks to corresponding Discourse Groups as well. This allows you to provide a public forum for your courses but also segment certain groups into private groups where you can have private discussions related to taking the courses. Doki now handles Discourse group creation as well as adding/removing students from Discourse groups automatically (which was an arduous manual process, previously).

Our customers such as psychologists, therapists, and other health practitioners are using this feature to promote discussion while making sure that each cohort of their program gets a safe, private place to discuss implementation.
