Improv companies are run by passionate people, and there's a lot of management stuff that could be improved through software. I've seen the terrible tech and manual processes first hand as an improv student.
The one I had been experimenting with, AWS Serverless and Graphcool, were good... but I felt a bit too constrained. Changing things around a lot resulted in loss of motivation when I'd spend more time on the infrastructure or having painted myself into a corner with an earlier assumption.
