We wanted to monetize with ads, but didn't feel comfortable sacrificing our users privacy. So we built this for ourselves, and are now expanding it to other people.

October 13, 2021 Over $30,000 last month in publisher payouts

It was only in August that we crossed $25k, but now we're up above $30,000 in publisher revenue.

We generated $31,380.78 for our publishers.

Part of our revenue improvements were due to price increases that went into effect over the last quarter and partially due to selling more of our harder to sell inventory. Our effective cost per thousand impressions (eCPM) has improved across the board. The US & Canada eCPM has improved from $2.87 in June to $2.93 in September, our APAC eCPM went from $0.56 in June to $0.68 in September, and our EU eCPM went all the way from $2.40 to $2.92 in September. This means more money in the pockets of our publishers!

September 20, 2021 $25,000 last month in publisher payouts

We have been hovering around $25k in our advertising payouts for the last couple months, but in August we crushed this number. We gave our publishers (mostly open source projects) $27,913.01 in August 2021. We're excited about these numbers, and hope to keep growing them!

July 27, 2021 First time on HN front page

We just recently published a blog post talking about how we scaled our product up to 100 request/s. This is using standard tooling (Python, Django, Postgres), and so it was neat to see it get a small amount of love on HN.

August 2020 Launched!

We launched the initial version of the ad network, along with a blog post announcing it:

Things were just getting started, and we finally had everything ready to start feeling like we were "ready".
