How I'm Using Paid Ads to Acquire New SaaS Users

Kyle @kylegawley

It's crunch time!

It's crunch time! I need to start acquiring paid users or I won't be able to continue Everview.

I've built the MVP (minimum viable product) with 13 data integrations and have one paying customer, I'm now shifting my focus from product development to user acquisition. I need to prove that there is a viable business model for Everview, and that I can acquire new customers profitably.

a few weeks has passed - how are your (very many) ads performing?

    1. 1

I'll do a follow up post soon :-)

      1. 1

        well? :D

        1. 1

😂 in a nutshell: content has been more effective in getting sign ups, so I want to get some more data around that before I do the article.

  2. 1

Absolutelly great product and with a affordable price!

I have only one complain: my notebook hasn't a big screen, so a "overflow-x: hidden" is necessary in the first header.

    1. 1

Ahh, thanks for pointing that out!

  3. 1

Appreciate you putting down your thoughts as an article. That itself works as a lead gen! Good work.

    1. 1

Thank you! Posting these articles seems to be trumping the paid ads campaign in terms of user acquisition so far 😂

    Hi Kyle,

Do you see many conversions on your "Ultimate Guide to SAAS Metrics" lead magnet that you have on your homepage? I'm thinking of doing something similar but not sure if its worth my time right now.

    1. 1

This one is converting less than my other one (the secret formula) so I'll double down on the later. It's definitely worth it if you can get it working

  5. 1

How much are you spending on each channel or across the whole test?

    1. 1

£150 per channel (30 days) although I will probably kill off some of the channels before 30 days if they're not working at all.

  6. 1

Really love how you lay everything out in the post. Can’t wait for the follow up!

    Hi Kyle,

I'd love to showcase your work on our platdorm. We are building a web app for developers to showcase their work and to gain more exposure.

Would love to hear back from you!

Drop me an email: [email protected] :-)

Hey Kyle, quick one; I noticed that Google analytics only shows 2 of the websites I have.

    1. 1

Hey Kehers, can you please drop me an email on [email protected]? I'll need a few bits of info from you to investigate properly.

  9. 1

Keep in mind that Facebook conversion campaigns need at least 50 conversions per week to optimize properly.

Launching a campaign with a $5 budget it's not a great idea. Unless your CPA is less than $1, the algorithm won't have enough data to find converters.

    1. 1

It can work with as little as 15 - 20. Best case scenario is at least 50 a week.

    2. 1

I don't expect much from the conversion ads, I'm just using them as a traffic generator with a better purchase intent, if they get any traction I'll scale up the budget.

    3. 1

What would you say is the minimum recommended spend?

      1. 1

Ideally your daily budget should be at least 5x your CPA.

  10. 1

I've read your article and it sounds like a great business idea. I think there is someone else on the forum who does the same thing and he is earning quite big...

Can't seem to come up with the name atm. Good luck with your campaigns!
