Yelp for OnlyFans Content
Subscribing to OnlyFans content can be quite daunting, especially when you have no idea what you'll be getting.
In addition, I think of creators as SMBs, and SMBs need a suite of platforms to help them sell better.
Getting focused assistance and a structured game plan changes things
While I focused on product development, the intern focused on sales and customer communication. Less than two weeks in, we've already closed our very first paying customer!!!
I'm cautiously optimistic, and hopefully this can be replicated over months
What can I say? Angellist is pretty sweet, and received several high quality candidates
Ultimately, found a specific person whom my business partner and I liked, and onboarded this person for a 3-month trial
We liked how smart and honest this individual was, and had clear and coherent thoughts about what we're doing here. Looking forward to seeing that this person can do!
Making sales is tough, and juggling between different hustles at the same time is tiring
Decided to create a job post and try hiring an intern to handle sales and marketing
I failed set up on several job portals because of the nsfw nature of FansTools but Angellist seemed to do the trick
More UX refresh, and a few more pages added on http://fans.tools/
Added a "Join Us" page at https://fans.tools/joinus, and I'm gonna hook it up to my PayPal page soon for payment. Fingers crossed for my first payment since I started building three weeks ago
Worried if I've enough time to build the business side of things
I'm toying with the idea of investing in SEO, and decided to hire a writer on Fiverr (again).
For this, I did an experiment to find out who was the best person to write content for the blog. I engaged two writers, gave them the same topic, and the same number of words in the article.
Found the winner between the two, after that.
My site is gorg, but not responsive. bubble has been hard to make responsive, and I wasn't too sure if I could make it truly responsive
As such, I decided to give fiverr another go and hire a bubble developer for a 4-hour job to make my site responsive
I would do it myself, but I have another project to rush in my day job and it'd be counterproductive given how time-strapped I was
This raises the question of whether it defeats the spirit of IH if I engaged gig workers to help out in certain parts of my side project.
Is it still indie if I engaged paid help from others?
The wireframes were great, and my landing page looks amazing now. It's amazing how a change in fonts and a few additional tweaks can be such a game changer
I'm a perfectionist at heart, so there are little imperfections that nag at me
You know what they say though - done is better than perfect. I'll continue implementing what I can from the wireframe reference
I got the wireframes from my designer in .fig files (for Figma).
I read that it's possible to link my Bubble app to Figma, but after doing that I realized that the transfer was very poor.
That said, the designer did do a good job so I decided to ignore the Figma-Bubble import, and implemented the designs manually.
The process is slow, but I'm happy with the results so far!
The site is ugly as hell, but it had basic functionality. I scoured Fiverr for a good UX designer to breathe life into my site
The process of getting the UX/UI design up was a breeze, since I found myself a reliable and responsive designer. Got the Figma files today so I can start implementing nicer things on it!
Using no-code platform Bubble, I created the first version of FansTools (https://fans.tools).
The current version is barebones, and contains reviews that I scraped from subreddits on OnlyFans creators. This helped seed the site with preliminary data, instead of starting from scratch.
