A weekly leaderboard of the best new side projects
Fiddy is a weekly leaderboard of the best new Indie Hacker side projects. Like, comment on, and share the best projects you find, or submit your own to compete every week.
Seven months ago, I posted on Indie Hackers asking the community to describe their side projects in fifty characters or less. The post took off, and from that, Fiddy was born.
Today, I'm excited to announce version 2.0 has launched on Product Hunt. It would mean the world to me if you could go check it out and support the launch.

โ and a few more
Yesterday, since the soft launch of Fiddy 2.0 - I got my first paying customer! It's just a start, and only $5 - but I am happy with the progress. Hopefully, there is more to come soon.
Once more an amazing week on Fifty - thank you to everyone that upvoted, shared and submitted their projects.
Project Badges went live this week. You can check out some of them in action here and here. So far they have been a moderate success in getting users upvotes. I'm planning to launch a new type of badge today which will show the total number of upvotes a project has received - not just the upvotes they got that week.
UI Update. The most significant change I made was to change icon only buttons to buttons with icons & text - to increase the usability for first time users.
100+ upvotes. This first week where makers competed for the top spot on Fifty. Thank you to everyone that showed the projects love - 100+ upvotes were given out.
Once again, best of luck to all of you with your projects ๐งก
Cheers,
Hessel from Fifty

Once again, barring a slight hiccup, it's been an awesome week so far. Fifty reached two milestones this past week.
100 users. Projects on Fifty are ranked by upvotes, and to vote you have to sign in with Twitter or Google. Today we reached 100 signings.
Yesterday, Fifty crossed 350 subscribers, and almost 250 project submissions. It's really been so much fun.
I've added a project leaderboard to Fifty, to show who the current leaders are. Please go show the indie hacker projects some love.
Project badges are also a new addition to Fifty. Check them out in action here.
Its really been so much fun promoting and working with your projects. Best of luck to you all ๐งก
It's been awesome so far. I've recently hit the milestone of adding 200 new projects to Fifty. The best part about going through so many projects is that I now start to recognize projects on IH, Twitter & Product Hunt. It's fun to watch them grow.
330 subscribers, and counting, in the last 15 days. I love having an audience, albeit a small one, to share with the progress I make on Fifty. The feedback is also invaluable - it's the source of some of the best additions to Fifty (it's domain, upvotes, etc).
Hot & new. The most recent addition to Fifty is a way to filter projects by hot & new. This gives some exposure to recent additions, while also showing some love to the projects doing well.
Its really been so much fun promoting and working with your projects. Best of luck to you all ๐งก
Projects on Fifty are ranked by Project Scores (projects description quality/clarity + community upvotes). With this combination, some projects excelled, and others lagged behind.
I want to give every project an equal opportunity since honestly, they are all great. So I am making two changes.
1๏ธโฃ, every week, at the start of the week, all upvotes will be cleared. This will level the playing field, giving projects, and founders, a new opportunity every week to get exposure. 2๏ธโฃ, project scores are only determined by community upvotes.
Think Product Hunt, but you get to launch every week.
With this, I will also be rolling out project badges to embed on your site - to show others your progress that week ๐ฅ
The first round starts this Monday.
Best of luck to the 200+ projects already listed ๐งก
Upvotes will be cleared every week.
Projects on Fifty are ranked by Projects Scores - a combination between the quality of their descriptions and the number of upvotes they get. This has caused some projects to really shine, but others to fall behind and not really get any exposure.
So I am putting a new spin on Fifty. Every week, at the start of the week, all upvotes will be cleared. This will level the playing field, giving projects, and founders a new opportunity every week to get exposure.
Think Product Hunt, but you get to launch every week.
With this, I will also be rolling out project badges to embed on your site - to show others your progress that week.

Hey,
I've spent the past two days migrating Fifty to Firebase & getting community upvotes (thank you @nosduh for the suggestion ๐) up and running.
Everything used to run on Sheety - but I need something more robust for the features to come.
All the projects on Fifty are now ranked by the quality of their description (clarity & length) + community upvotes. Take a look: https://fiddy.co
You can now show your fellow indie hackers some love by throwing an upvote their way ๐งก
Cheers,
Hessel
Fifty has graduated!
All my side-projects start off as a subdomain of weekendprojects.xyz. Up until now, Fifty's home was fifty.weekendprojects.xyz, but since it's launch it got a bit of traction.
Fifty deserves its own domain.
So, welcome to Fifty's new home - fiddy.co ๐
In the past few days, I've made some significant updates to Fifty. I've added starred projects โญ, top 3 โก, the post of the Day ๐, and projects scores ๐
Project scores ๐ embody the spirit of Fifty. Fifty is all about describing you project as efficiently as possible, and that's what these scores reflect - the shorter and better your description, the higher your project scores.
Projects scores carry some weight, as everything is sorted by it. The higher your score, the more exposure you are guaranteed to get.
It's been so much fun working on Fifty and seeing the amazing projects Indie Hacker submit. Feel free to add your own.
Cheers,
Hessel
