July 6, 2022 We believe in better automation

As we have been working on updating our messaging and learning SEO, we tried to reflect back on why we built Flowabl in the first place.

The answer: we wanted to create a visual experience to design and build your automation.

Essentially, we have a belief in better automation!

We have now updated our landing page to better suite our aim...馃憞 See what we went from and to

June 23, 2022 We have a Slack App

Submitted

Even before we launched Flowabl, we knew we wanted to have Slack integration with an intuitive experience that allowed you to run your workflows

The Belief
Bring your automation closer to where you collaborate and ensure that your teams have a frictionless and common experience.

When running your workflows, whether it be to kick-off user onboarding flows, customer communication flows, or your SRE teams resolving issues, you will receive an activity response.

Take it for a spin

March 21, 2022 We reached 20+ users

We recently achieved our 23rd user sign up milestone!

This means the user count has doubled in just two months. Onto the next 10!

Reach out to me on Twitter (@tysonlawrie) or the team via email ([email protected]). We really want to partner with other like-minded IndieHackers, and better yet, you'll help us achieve our next user milestone.

March 21, 2022 What's New: Powerful API Integrations

Greater API Power

Connecting between systems has never been more powerful with the new Execute Advanced HTTP Call task. Easily sync data between SaaS applications, access API endpoints, and focus on business logic rather than writing code to stitch together APIs.

And now its even easier, you no longer have to create complex workflows to handle response codes or failures, this task provides the flexibility to set:

  • the expected HTTP response codes or range of codes
  • the status of the task based on those codes
  • the number of retries
  • the number of milliseconds to wait between retries

馃挕Imagine a business workflow to sync customer information between your CRM and marketing tools. Now imagine if that fails. It would be a headache. No longer do you have to wire together complex workflows to handle error codes and retries, this is now taken care of for you.

Remote MongoDB Query Execution

A new task to execute a remote MongoDB query has been added. This allows you to query databases with the output saved to an external file. This opens endless possibilities to filter, translate, or transform the data and perform actions.

Enhanced Manual Actions Experience

We all know that a number of processes can involve Manual Tasks, especially when first starting out on your automation journey. The Actions screen now allows you to view the detail of a Manual Action inline, allowing greater clarity and more efficiency when processing manual actions.

Enhancements and Fixes

  • Optimized the Send Email tasks for greater performance.
  • Caught a number of Workflow Scheduling bugs to ensure the schedule executes in the correct time and runs with the correct resolved parameters.
  • Fixed a number of Workflow Storage issues

January 20, 2022 What's New: Scheduling your Workflows

Scheduling has never been easier or more powerful. You can now schedule your Workflow to run with multiple Schedules; one time, every week, or quarterly. You can even specify different inputs with each Schedule.

This opens the door to many possibilities. You could schedule a Workflow to remind each of your employees quarterly about health and safety policies, follow up emails for onboarding an employee, or a weekly audit to extract and review data with a manual approval if rules aren鈥檛 met.

A Schedule can be set up to

  • Run once: set a date and time in the future
  • Recurring: set the time, timezone, and which days to run
  • Recurring via cron expression: define the cron schedule and timezone.

You also have a whole new Calendar view to be able to see what Schedules are running when for what Workflows.

馃挕 Did you know we use this ourselves? When a new user joins Flowabl we trigger a workflow with an event via a serverless function. The quotas get updated based on the plan chosen and we send a friendly welcome email. We then schedule another Workflow to run days later to send a follow-up email.

The best part is that this was the first major contribution since Flowabl was created back to the open-source community.

January 18, 2022 Reached 10+ users

We recently achieved the 11 user sign up milestones.

The user count doubled in the last week and we feel thats been due to our renewed focus in the start of 2022 around ensuring we stay in contact with the community through Twitter, IH, Reddit, etc and it is making a difference.

Onto the next 10!
