Easily create professional visual guides and tutorials
I want to create a simple solution to a tedious problem of creating step-by-step guides. Writing and composing learning materials can be very time consuming and Folge solves this problem
My app got featured in a podcast called Podfeet - https://www.podfeet.com/blog/2020/11/folge/ . Allison Sheridan did not only talk about the app, but actually wrote a whole review that is first of all very interesting to read, written very professionally but also shows how passionate Allison is about her podcast, apps she is covering and how much she liked Folge. I personally got a lot of feedback from her article, which I would implement in the next version.
Phew! 5 months in development, getting feedback, fixing bugs overnight and talking to the loverly users and this has finally has happened. Folge app went into public release with 1.0.0 version 馃帀
I'm still amazed by how patient and responsive were users given occasional bugs and missing functionality. Probably this was one of the things that pushed me more than thought of money: sudden understanding that people really need my product to accomplish their goals and do their work, so they are happy to help me and then pay for it.
Next there will be even more work, ups and downs but what empowers me is this understanding of doing things people need and want.

Okay, wow. This feels thrilling, unexpected and rewarding at the same time. Someone just bought a copy of Folge, even though app is still in Beta. I had to build the checkout page over the night using Paddle, and have sent the link to the user, as they have previously emailed me to ask how could they unlock the full app.
I decided to try Paddle as payment provider and it appeared to be sort of a magic tool. I literally spent only an hour to setup product, checkout, pricing, discounts and another hour on testing and adjusting the code on my side.
Now I have to rapidly develop additional paid features to start delivering more value. Wish me luck 馃
I have finally released the first public beta version of my app. It is available for Mac and Windows and has all the basic functionality users need to create their guides in html or pdf. After sending it out to the first beta testers I got very supportive feedback ( I was really surprised to see that people want to use Folge even in its initial bet form ) and insights into which features they want to see next
