My goal is to help people get into Y Combinator and I've created a website for past YC applicants to pay it forward and future YC applicants to learn from their experience. I've gathered over 50 YC applications so far.

December 9, 2021 Added MagicBell YC application

@unamashana is the solo founder of MagicBell. Find out how she successfully applied to @ycombinator and got into the W21 batch.

Very excited to be adding the 54th application to the website. I'm waiting on 3 more applications!

December 7, 2021 Getintoyc.com website stats for the week of Nov 29
  • Announcing on Y Combinator Startup School forums got me some high quality traffic (▲ duration ▼bounce rate )
  • Overall a slow week, with very little marketing
  • In the process of obtaining 3 new applications this week

Didn't get a chance to announce on IH last week.

November 30, 2021 Announced and featured on YC Startup School

Great start to the week. I announced getintoyc.com on YC SUS and the post got featured – https://www.startupschool.org/posts/44572

Going to do the Indie Hackers announcement later today 🤞

Only about 1 month away from S22 applications opening, and I'm guessing people are already prepping!

November 29, 2021 Website stats week #2
  • My LinkedIn post on Wed got some amazing engagement
  • Also did an announcement on a YC Discord group
  • Not sure how visitors are coming from PH, I haven't posted there yet

This week, I'll be announcing on Indie Hackers, a Slack group called Founderopedia, YC Startup School forum and FB group.

November 25, 2021 Announced on YC Discord and Telegram channels

There are a few unofficial YC group chats on both Discord and Telegram. They aren't the most active but no harm spreading the word far and wide!

Also created a new promotional image which now shows the top few companies which have an application on the site. Hopefully this entices more people to check it out 🤞

November 24, 2021 Announced getintoyc.com on my personal LinkedIn

The website got almost 200 new visitors in the past 24 hours. It's a new all time high!

The quality of visitors from LinkedIn have definitely been better with more pageviews per visitor and a lower bounce rate.

I've got a few more places to announce over the next few days!

November 23, 2021 Migrated to a SUPERFAST server

Been waiting for Black Friday deals to move getintoyc.com to a faster server. And the day has finally come!

I migrated from SiteGround to WPX 24 hours ago and my GTmetrix scores are off the charts! (View my tweet for a screenshot)

And yup, the website is built on WordPress. Everyone I've told has been very surprised 😂

November 22, 2021 Exciting week ahead

It's the last full week of November!

I'll be officially announcing Get into YC on multiple channels this week and reaching out to a few more high profile YC alumni.

YC S22 applications should be opening mid January, so that gives me a comfortable amount of time to generate awareness for the website. People should already be preparing for their applications now.

November 18, 2021 It's been a week since I launched getintoyc.com

Here are the website stats thanks to @ukutaht and @markosaric's Plausible Analytics

169 visitors & 501 pageviews
Indie Hackers is the top traffic source
with most visitors coming from the US
and mobile making being the most popular device

Really wish I could post images here, but you can check out my Twitter for a screenshot of the full stats – https://twitter.com/markleehq/status/1461367118117552138

November 17, 2021 Just started sharing on LinkedIn

Created a company page and shared the first post 24 hours ago. LinkedIn is now only 2nd to IndieHackers in terms of Get into YC's traffic sources. Initially I was surprised at how much traffic it brought, but I suppose the way LinkedIn builds everyone's feed encourages more virality. E.g. If I like a post, my connection's feed will show that "Mark has liked this post" and show the post even if that connection doesnt follow the author of that post.

p.s. I was going to share an image of the breakdown of all my top traffic sources to date, but it seems there is no way to upload an image here?
