Launched our MVP

Yesterday we have officially launched our design service: reviews of your UI design by a professional designer who provides you actionable feedback. Now it's time to validate if there is a demand for such kind of services.

As I developer, I can build and launch apps and web sites but making them look beautiful is often challenging for me. I think professional-looking well-designed products sell better and that's why it's essential to improve in this area. Picking colors & fonts and knowing how to manage whitespace and structure the information takes years of practice or natural talent, so it might not be an easy skill to achieve in a short amount of time.

Are you a founder and you don't have a professional designer in your team? Our service is for YOU.

Hey I am of the same thinking. There's many devs that do actually need help with that and Imho you can help many.

Look that's why I built this.

    I hope you enjoy .

Thank you so much. ! Really glad you like it.

This is a really cool idea. As a Designer, I constantly get asked the same question by developers, how can I make my app look better and more professional? Glad to see you are providing a service for that.

Thanks, let's see if there is demand for non-free advice :-)

Steve Schroger paved the way with his Refactoring UI resources (https://refactoringui.com/) so there's definitely a demand. Best of luck!

I have actually watched his amazing video at CSS Day 2019 a couple of weeks ago https://youtu.be/7Z9rrryIOC4 I guess that's why I had this idea.

    Other nice idea is:

    • INPUT: A page with a form
    • OUTPUT: A page with a form that converts much more %

Focusing more on sales than in design itself. I could be interested on that.

Even design advice is very individual and improving conversions is even more. Also, improving conversions is a longer process because the feedback loop is longer: the visual improvement you can see immediately, the improvement in conversion is not visible immediately unless the volume is high.

But if you know how to implement it, it's a really nice idea. My approach would be starting with the text content. Copy is probably more important than visual design so figuring out a tool that can rewrite the copy on the page and test variants and choose the best ones (an experience copywriter in the team would be needed). The design should be decent too though.

Hey @orkon, excuse me, I forgot to read the title and went directly to your comment (without checking your website).

When I've seen the pricing, I got convinced of your idea, I think you should show it early. I'm working on www.phpninja.info between you and me we can RE-BOOST-RE-VAMP any website : )

I would like to find a way to partner up. I'm working in automating website quality.

This is a neat service! I like the idea.

Congrats on a launch! That's an awesome service idea! :)

I'm going to be blunt—your own site doesn't look very well designed.

    • I'm on a laptop looking at above the scroll of your homepage and approx. 10-20% of the screen is taken up by white space above the top menu.

    • Approx. 40% of the screen is white space below that menu.

    • The dark red text on a dark blue/purple background isn't very legible.

    • "How it works" is floating above the "Get started" button.

And there are more subjective issues, like:

    • Promising to make "your app or website to look fabulous", but pairing that text with an image that doesn't show an app or website remade to be fabulous.

    • The ambiguity and lack of specific value offered by "Get your Design QA" (i.e. what is quality assurance? Do I want it? Or do I want well-designed website that'll increase sales?)

    • The free illustrations from humaaans.com (they're everywhere and very flavour-of-last-month).

Hey @jsph, thanks for the honest feedback! What is the screen width that you have and which browser? I checked our landing page almost on all resolutions and several major browsers, but it could be that smth is not working well. I'd appreciate if you send us a screenshot at [email protected]

It's clear that our value offering is weak at the moment, so you are totally right in your subjective issues!
