With some advice given from some expert product builders, I decided to not aim for a crappy MVP in 30 days.
Instead, I decided to launch a nice waiting list and spend time testing and polishing the value proposition for GigRadar.io
Can I release GigRadar in 30 days?
The development stalled for a while why I was focused on other projects like Scalifier.com
Then I ended up in a private entrepreneurial mastermind group where we did some goal setting.
They pushed me to define a very ambitious goal for the next 30 days.
And I agreed to accept the challenge to release a public version of GigRadar by August 7.
I also have to get 50 sign-ups as the target metric.
If I fail, I have to pay a $5,000 penalty to the mastermind group....
It's real. Today is Day #1.
Updates in this tweet thread
This week I rolled out the first working version of GigRadar.io to the list of private testers ๐
I have been working on the MVP for a little bit over 1 month, and I am impressed with how much value the app brings in it's first release:
It's exciting to have 2 active users already with more to come!
Before answering what GigRadar could be for you, I want to tell what it is for me:
It's been over a week that I discovered this amazing community of people building products in public.
Hence, it was decided that GigRadar will now continue to be built in public. I will start sharing on twitter and then let's see if we can do some live sessions as well.
I feel like it is a great way to get early feedback on the product, as well as validate the core idea.
After spending a week on Nusa Penida (an island near Bali, Indonesia), being completely worn out from 2020, depressed about my business and work, and totally disappointed in hired programmers, I realise that maybe it is time that I am confident enough to start something i a complete indie way.
We were working with a freelancer to develop a data collection architecture that will scan Upwork jobs and notify us of the ones that match our search queries. We really needed a tool like this as part of our toolkit ๐ for Scalifier.
But freelancer moved the kick-off date for the project over and over again, resulting in us missing the deadlines.
After another delay, I said fuck that.
I speak to my partner Max @ Scalifier, and we agree that I take a complete ownership and responsibility for the new B2C product that will allow freelancers to stop manually scanning job boards once and for all.
