Back in 2015 we were searching for referral program software that would fit the needs of our SaaS business. After waiting for years, we built GrowSurf ourselves as the referral SaaS that we always wanted.

September 6, 2021 Reached $400k in ARR

We reached $400,000 in annual recurring revenue for GrowSurf!

What's working is word-of-mouth recommendations (picking up) and SEO. Churn is still not optimal, but that's a whole another post I have saved up waiting for results.

March 17, 2021 Became an open startup

We are making all of our revenue and core metrics public today at https://growsurf.com/open.

Why? Because building SaaS is really hard. Doing it bootstrapped (with no external funding) is harder. But we've found inspiration and motivation in being able to follow other SaaS founder's journeys.

I hope that by sharing our ups and downs, victories and challenges, mistakes and insights, we can shed light on the SaaS start-up world, and maybe one day provide some inspiration of our own.
