7 Beta Users On Launch Day

I just launch #HabitScript on @ProductHunt.

Mistakes I make during the launch:

  • I don't spend enough time writing landing page copy and design

  • I don't spend enough time on testing registration and login pages

I get 7 beta users on launch day and it's was a very stressful day because I have issues on the web app and some errors on the landing page

Hey Ilias. Sorry it has been stressful, it can't be easy.

I would recommend reviewing the copy of the website, there are basic grammatical errors which don't come across great. If you can't find anyone, I'd be happy to run through it and point out and suggest improvements, I'm not a copywriting expert, but I could help improve it.

      Hey Rosie,

Thank you so much for your advice and help. I'll be very happy if you help fix grammatical errors

The good thing about launching is you can always fix your mistakes and re-launch!

I agree with Rosie though. It's important to be a perfectionist with the language and copy, as people use those as signals to judge the quality of your app before they ever sign up.

If English isn't your first language or writing isn't your strong suit, I'd highly recommend hiring someone who's good at both to look over things, since in that case it'll be impossible for you to be a perfectionist on your own.

Thank you so much for your advice and feedback.

I agree with you though. It's important to be a perfectionist with the language and copy but I don't enough budget to hire a copywriter

English isn't your first language and I have bad writing skills. Can you recommend me a book or course to improve my writing skill?

      1. 2

English is my first language, so I'm not exactly sure what course you should use. Your English is more than good enough for casual conversation, just not for perfectionist copywriting.

You don't need money imo. Just get creative. You can probably find someone on IH and offer them to help with something out if they help you correct your grammar and spelling on the site.

Or you could make a post, "I'll beta test your product if you help me fix my copywriting." Lots of people might respond.

Thank you so much Courtland for your advice and time. I like the idea of making a post and offer them value in exchange for fixing my copywriting and I'll try it asap

I appreciate your help and time
