In most habit apps, tracking the progres is a manual effort. Our goal with Habyte is to automate this manual process. Available automations include the device location to track regular gym visits or app usage statistics

December 16, 2020 Android Beta release

We finally released our beta version of Habyte on Google Play 馃嵕

Problems we have faced:

  • It was our first ReactNative App, and we started with two architectural mistakes very at the beginning
  • To fix these issues, we almost started from scratch after the first internal dev release in June
  • Automate Habits by using some data on the phone sounds easy, but it ended up in a very complex creation flow 馃く
  • We redesigned the habit flow 3 times before we were satisfied and were able to cover near to every habit use case

Some lessons we have learned:

  • It took more than one year from the idea to the first release. This is too long and next time we will start with a smaller scope and less perfectionism 馃搮
  • We failed in getting early customer and need to improve our marketing

Besides the issues, we have faced and the problems we have in front of us, it is time to celebrate the first release that is publicly available馃帀

October 2019 Project start

We've used so many habit trackers over the years. Every one of these habit trackers had the same issue: The manual tracking adds effort to build new habits and if you forget to track your progress, the data is outdated.

We decided to build a habit tracker that solves this problem by automating the habit tracking.
