Hashzag enables you to generate unique sets of hashtags from various categories in your saved collection. This helps you avoid being penalized by the Instagram algorithm for posting repetitive hashtags.
Pushing out a new product is always nerve-wracking, but it wasn't as bad this time because Hashzag is a tool I use and enjoy...so who cares if no one else likes it! Still, I wanted to share it with the world, so I wrote an IH post to see if I can entice a few people to join me (no one yet, but maybe you'll be the first?). 😉
I decided to use Hashzag as a way to learn React. After watching several tutorial series by The Net Ninja on YouTube, I dove in, starting by creating a basic dashboard to allow me to add hashtags. I slowly built out features as well as an aesthetic that was sleek and satisfying to use.
As they say, build for yourself. You're your best user.
For months, I relied on a Google Spreadsheet to organize and categorize my Instagram hashtags.
Depending on the type of post, I used formulas to generate randomized sets of hashtags from different categories, for example “web development” and “startups”. The whole thing became unbearably messy, so I decided to build something to solve my problem. The idea for Hashzag was born!
