I built HM to scratch my own itch for a finance app that prioritizes monitoring your expenses. After seeing similar apps shut down, I wanted to build a sustainable app that doesn't spam you with ads or sell your data.
iOS app finally approved
Unfortunately, getting the iOS app available ran into several roadblocks. Apple reviewers kept pointing out an obscure guidelines clause that said apps for "financial institutions" couldn't be published under an individual person's name.
Eventually, I got fed up of trying to convince Apple and caved in to incorporating as a LLC. This delayed the process an extra couple of weeks.
App published on the Play Store
After beta testing with several friends and building out the minimal amount of features for users/accounts, I published to the Play Store! Unfortunately, getting the app onto the App Store wouldn't be as easy...

After getting feedback on the initial app experience, went back and built all the necessary features to support real users.

Started writing code for a frontend prototype in order to validate the UI/UX with some friends.
