🤔Thoughts
An IH member was complaining about my previous post complaining that it wasn't a milestone. A milestone doesn't have to be hitting $5K MRR, it can be getting one new sign up, making $5 or even just getting some good feedback. I'm going to continue sharing my small wins so you can see that a successful product doesn't happen overnight, it happens over time.

Now let us get back to business.

"Why don't all the big tech companies (Skype, Facebook, Amazon, Gmail) offer pared-back versions of their products for the elderly (non-tech-savvy)? It could include increased button/ font sizes, remove unnecessary features/ clutter, better phishing preventative systems etc" via David

It's your milestone, so it can be whatever you consider. Congrats on the milestone! ;)

Exactly what I was going to write. Its your product and your milestones. Keep up the good work

Totally okay to post milestones of any size whatsoever, and I also think your milestones are pretty great!

However, I'm going to rename your milestone (from "I needed to say this") to be consistent with the naming prompt of "What did you accomplish." This is something I care about for two reasons:

    1. When people first show up to IH and look at the "milestones" section at the top, I want them to understand what's going on, and it's confusing if the milestone titles don't seem like milestones titles.
    2. The subject line of the daily milestones email is simply the title of the day's top milestone, so again, it's a bit confusing if it's just titled like an normal post instead of a milestone.

Agree with this move - I think HackerNews does a similar thing with titles that are worded strangely or clickbait-y. Someone made this a while back: https://hackernewstitles.netlify.com/

I saw the original downvoted comment and hope that person was only criticizing the title too because I think the content of these milestones is great!

Totally understand and really appreciate your transparency @csallen

That particular individual doesn't have any products listed on their page, so perhaps they're unsure what milestones can be.

    1. 1

That could be the reason :)

Congrats! We've been there/are in the midst still + know just how important a few £/$s can make to the momentum of the business. Keep going!

Thanks Ash, I'm a big fan of what you're doing at Yena.

Ain't that the truth Matthew :)

It'd be worse if no one cared enough to respond. Even with negative comments you are capturing attention - so kudos to you on that :)

    Keep posting them!

I totally agree! As a founder of a really early stage startup I personally even find the "smaller" milestones here on IH as more inspiring - naturally since it's closer to where I am with my business. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!

Exactly how I feel Emelie, thank you so much :D

  8. 2

    Agreed! And congrats

You define your milestones. They become useful to the community when they are expressed clearly, and you describe yours very well. Keep at it!

Absolutely. Cheers to all the small victories. Celebrate them! Always remember how far you’ve come!
