This is embarrassing, seeing as I make my living as a writer, but I've been struggling for some time now to write a blog post for In the Good. So far it's only a weekly newsletter - just sent out # 25! - but I have plans to add content to the website. Thing is, that first piece of content, that blog post, was turning into a HUGE hurdle for me.
I don't know why. I could speculate. Part of it is the format - I have a block when it comes to blogs, I think! But it was really getting me down and souring my mood towards In the Good - I needed to get past it!
So last night, after reaching peak frustration, I decided to write a small part of that imaginary blog post as the introduction to my newsletter. For some reason, that switch made a huge difference! I started writing and ended up with almost 800 words for that intro! Definitely a long intro, but I went with it. I was glad to have it out of my brain, and I've already had positive feedback about it (the newsletter went out this morning).
I guess switching to a format I was used to - I write the newsletter every week - made it easier? Honestly, I don't know. But for now, I'll keep 'blogging' in my newsletter!
