Incognito for Slack has launched!

After a short closed beta with the startup I work for (YOOBIC) I have now officially launched Incognito for Slack! I'm now in the early days of looking for my first few users and customers to start gathering their feedback and iterating my app towards product-market-fit. Let me know what you think!

@IncognitoSlack How is it going? Can Slack bot be profitable?

Of course, how do you think Donut and Polly raised $12M and $8M respectively?

What about indie hackers? Can Incognito pay your bills?

        1. 2

Yes, of course. But it's just as hard as doing any other indie hacker project. There's not much difference between launching a Slack app and launching a web app as an Indie Hacker. Just create something that people want to buy because it brings them value.

I was thinking about launching a Slack bot because it seemed like easy money. Slack App Directory promotes your app for free. But my indie friends with some experience creating Slack bots discouraged my idea, saying that only a few people visit Slack App Directory and Slack bots are too niche to advertise in Google, etc.

I agree that Slack bots are too niche for advertising.

And yes, the Slack app directory helps out, but you might be buried.

And not tooo many people search for bots so you'll definitely have to find your own users, especially at the start when you have no downloads.

Did you search what the app store already contains? It's pretty full, so you'll probably have a few competitors.

Yeah, Slack App Directory has so many apps 🤯
Finding users by myself sounds super complicated. Do you have any tips? I think most people don't answer cold messages.
