I've got a ton of plans and ideas for Indie Hackers that, quite frankly, I can't code fast enough by myself… so it's time to make our first full-time hire. 🔥
If you're a front-end (or full-stack) engineer and you're interested in joining Indie Hackers and Stripe to help me develop and implement these new ideas, I'd be happy to have you!
You can apply here: https://stripe.com/jobs/listing/frontend-eng-indie-hackers/1953430
just open-source it :-) I'll contrib
Apply and help me open source it!
Now we just need to get Indie Hackers listed on Key Values and we'll have come full circle 😉 @lynnetye
10/10 totally recommend working here!
I was thinking about this the other day. Looks like it's running on Horoku and/or Google Apps?
A friend and I were talking about Facebook/Twitter and she made the comment "I think we'll start seeing more localized/niche forums and message boards". IndieHackers is precisely that and it seems to be running well. I wonder if the IndieHackers server software could be offered as SaaS/PaaS with a small membership fee to cover hosting and dev costs. You could then set community members as "moderators" if needed to offload the actual moderation part to members of the specific communities. Then, you have income to cover developer salaries and you're keeping the code "in-house" making it easy to push updates.
This will go down in history on the lucky coders CV. Employee numero Uno. Good luck to you, Courtland, and to everyone at Indie Hackers!!
Too bad it's "Remote in North America only" :(
Maybe NA timezone?
Yeah, I'm from the Caribbean and depending on who you ask we are North America. Because most of us speak English, we don't fit in Latin America, We are not considered, Central America because we are too far east from the lot, and even though you can see Venezuela from the most southern Caribbean Island (Trinidad), it is not usually considered South America.
But guess what, they say Christopher columbus discovered the Caribbean Islands when he came to the "Americas" .
So Please Just say USA and Canada :-) /rant
That's awesome you're expanding!
Do you want to reach 1,389 developers on my mailing list? I'll pin it to the top of website as well, all for $99. Steal.
Oh, and I take Stripe 😎
I didn't realize Stripe owned Indie Hackers! How cool, I'll be sharing this around!
I've been waiting for this day to finally arrive!
Just submitted my application! 😁
Hope you find a good fit! Would have appolied if i were in North America!
Did not know IH was a part of Stripe, interesting.
That's awesome! Congrats on growing the team, Courtland!
No remote out side of the US? :(
What's the tech stack?
Too bad it's only for NA :(
Why North America only if it's remote? Asking from ignorance.
Looks great, but I live in France ;-)
Good luck.
Open-source it man! We will help
BTW, isn't IH got acquired? or Am I missing something, Allen?

Hey @Primer, just out of curiosity, how would you solve that? I really like the Reddit approach of indefinite ident since you can know exactly to whom people are answering. The Facebook approach of only one ident to me is horrible, people start to answer one another inside the main comment and you just can't tell anymore what the conversation is all about.
How would it still give the value of knowing exactly who the person is answering without indefinite indentation?
