First paying customer!

Robin Joseph @robinjoseph08

We're very excited to announce that we just converted our first customer from a pilot to a paid plan! 🎉

It's been tough for the past few months since our primary audience is startup recruiting teams, and they were hit pretty hard because of the pandemic and economic downturn. We started doing cold outreach and content marketing in March, and for the first few weeks, nothing really panned out since everyone had more pressing matters to deal with.

Luckily, one of the blog posts that we wrote and shared in relevant Slack workspaces caught the interest of our first customer. Hiring had slowed down for them, so they were looking to take advantage of it by improving on their processes and tooling. To offset the lower candidate volume, we offered an extended pilot for them so that they would have a longer time to actually try out the product.

One of the best things we've been doing with our pilot customers has been setting up a shared Slack channel so that we can stay in close communication with them. So if they had any questions or ran into any issues, we could respond quickly and provide assistance. We recommend this for anyone starting a B2B company. While it definitely won't scale as we get more customers, it really helps in the beginning.

Now that we've hit this milestone, we'll continue building out features that will make the experience even better for our customer, while simultaneously closing the gap between us and our competitors. We'll also be picking up on sales and marketing again now that things are looking a bit better for some companies. They're more open for new tools now than they were in March, so we want to be ready for teams looking to automate some of their manual processes.
