Slow, but sure continued progress by adding new sources into ListenAddict. I routinely automatically ~10-20 new people/night imported by my algorithm without any work. I’ve added more sources, and am now up to 11k people.
On the SEO side of things, I’m still hovering around that ~15-20 mark in the last 7 days according to Google Search Console. They still have ~20k more pages to index, and the number of pages is currently sitting at 15.5k.
Continuing to bring in more content automatically, and my Google SEO is continue to climb. According to GSC, over the last 3 months, my average position is now ~22, and over the last 7 days, it's ~16!
I'm still not monetizing (yet) and won't until I'm consistently in the top ten, but progression is good.
Continued to import and improve my algorithm for importing data sources (mostly podcasts still) into my system, while automatically extracting out people from the talks and saving them.
As the data continues to build, so does my SEO creds with Google. My average ranking just a couple of months ago was non-existent, then into the 50s, 40s, 30s, now average is mid-20s.
I still have a long way to go though, and thousands of more podcasts and data sources to go that need to be imported, but it's definitely a start!
tldr; launched my MVP
What is ListenAddict: it's a place where you can subscribe to a person and get notifications for whenever they have a new talk. Right now, it's just interview-based podcasts, but I'll be adding other sources of talks too (like TED talks on YouTube, for example).
Longer version:
Ok, so this is a bit of a late post (January 6, 2021), but I launched my MVP for ListenAddict! https://www.listenaddict.com/
The MVP was long overdue, and I did NOT do it very intelligently.
It took about 5-6 months to get out the initial MVP, and that's because I was focusing on doing fun things for myself rather than getting out a true MVP:
Instead, the MVP should have been- basic search for people (names), basic list of talks, subscribe button, and the underlying algorithm to find the people within talks.
Of course, that's all done too, but I just had to add all this other stuff too. Oh well! I guess I should start marketing it now....
