Yury Smykalov @yury_smykalov

So I built a really simple Telegram bot to show my prospective customers as a prototype.

Channel admins were able to add their channels, set subscription plan prices and enter their BTC address to receive payouts. Their customers — check out prices, pick a plan and pay.

Only core functionality. Quick and dirty implementation. Yeah, following the best MVP practices.

For historical purposes, I kept the first InviteMember quick start guide for this prototype so you can check out how it looked in May 2018:

I had around 25 prospective customers that showed some interest and sent them a link to the bot and a link to this tutorial.

I was pretty sure that at least 5-10 will become my first customers.

I was wrong.

Only 2-3 gave some meaningful replies (and no one bought), others either didn't reply at all or sent something like "okay, thanks" and nothing more.

At this point, I was almost convinced that this should be treated as "validation failed, pick another product idea".
