Streamline how you order custom parts. Always optimal. Faster lead times. Hassle-free.

November 2, 2021 Launched (again) On Product Hunt!

I'm super excited to launch our new product - Jiga Projects. 馃敟馃敟馃敟

So before I pitch it to you, here鈥檚 a bit of context: We're running a marketplace where makers (mechanical engineers, industrial designers) can request quotes and orders directly from vetted custom parts suppliers and machine shops.

While doing customer interviews, there was one big problem that came up on almost on every call - poor communication.
We also noticed that engineers would spend hours on the phone/emails trying to explain where exactly that is that little point on the model is, where a subtle tolerance is needed, or any other specific request

Whoa, that sounds frustrating.

So we built Jiga Projects!
It has a very similar commenting mechanism to what Figma has. You upload a bunch of 3D files, set up basic props, and send it to your teammates/machine shop/contractors so they can comment on a specific point on the CAD files.

Our roadmap for this is full of amazing cool features, and we'd more than love to hear your feedback and ideas for the upcoming further development of the product.

Yonatan and the Jiga team.

August 5, 2020 Indie Hackers Interview

We did a text interview with Indie Hackers today! We talked about how we got started, what our journey has been like, and our goals for the future, as well as some tips and advice for other indie hackers out there. Check it out to get a look into our story.

June 7, 2020 Dreamers, but in reality

In a previous post I told you that we started a business during the current crisis. A business. Although it works a bit like, sounds like and sometimes hurts like a startup, we tell everyone who asks that it's a "business".

This term, business, leaves us connected to reality.
It's crisis time. It's more difficult to raise funds. We preferred to build a product and try to generate revenue on our own, here and now.

Such a decision has its advantages but also many disadvantages and difficulties: moving in a different pace - faster than ever, marketing without budget, spending money out of your pocket, making compromises because time resources are very limited.

Today I looked at our dashboard with the key metrics. This month we first began to see returning customers - the most important KPI for us - who made transactions in thousands of dollars using our product.

So perhaps, these many difficulties are actually advantages: after all, constraints force you to think differently. to focus.
A global crisis is causing people not to "waste". It's also good. You have to build something that's necessary.

You have to deal with the truth. Not always pleasant, many times, and change accordingly.

To dream, but in reality.

June 2, 2020 Hitting 3K MRR

We actually passed 3K last month, but all our reporting were a complete mess.

After getting that into order, we designed a nice dashboard using databox showing our revenue and KPIs, which helps us to focus and track our goal more effectively.

Thanks to databox for an amazing product.

May 20, 2020 Starting a business during coronavirus outbreak

The last time we met the three of us physically, we hadn't even made a decision yet to work together.

We met at Shapira Cafe in Tel Aviv. We arrived with vehicles. Public transportation was already less attractive...

By that time we had already realized that ordering custom parts is one big headache. We decided to build a solution.

The next two and a half months were surreal. Coronavirus provided us with an opportunity to provide critical components for medical devices and save important time.

In a world where you can't physically meet and everyone has more time at home, we met online with hundreds of potential customers. Sometimes 15 a day.
We built a network of manufacturers that will allow us to continue receiving more orders.

Phones and packages that come home with ventilation machine components. It's easier to open doors this during these crazy times.

Then we built a product. Simple. At first it was fragile. Then, at least, it worked. It is now able to analyze production requirements and build automated quotes. exciting. It allows us to turn to more acquaintances, supply more orders, serve more people.

So here we go, first step in the dark. I'll try to share as authentically as possible (whenever possible). especially about the problems and hard things.

It might end tomorrow. Judging by the statistics, odds aren't exactly in our favor. In the short time we have already learned that most if it will go wrong somehow and that we'll need to find some way around.

But it will probably be fun sometimes.

And if you reached this far: If you know procurement professionals and engineers in manufacturing companies / medical devices, we would really appreciate it if you introduce them to us!
