Jott

I realize it's still very early in the day, but I am excited. It's the first time any of my projects have reached the top 2 🎉

Recently, things went a bit too far when I attempted to build a todo-list app, and the result was Jott, a note-taking system with local, shareable & linked notes.

Today, Jott launched on Product Hunt. Please check it out,
as I would love to get as much feedback on it as possible.

Today, Jott got a makeover. I updated the copy & completely overhauled the onboarding process.

While previously Jott, and all it's features, were hidden behind a sign-in screen - Jott is now open to all. As per my previous milestone, I wanted to start Jott out in closed beta. That was a mistake.

Now, only the features that actually require the user to sign in i.e. save & sync, are unavailable to non-subscribers.

So far, the response has been great - where yesterday, Jott has 3 page views and 3 unique visitors - so far today Jott has had 396 page views and 118 unique visitors.

A while ago I came across a tweet where someone explained their note-taking system. Super simple - take notes in Notepad & save them dropbox. It looked something like this.

I liked the look of it - so I set out to create a web-app that replicates this - same design, same features, a saveable todo-list that looks like Notepad.

Fast forward to now, and Jott got a bit out of hand. It looks like this now. Instead of a simple todo list, it's now a note-taking system with linked notes, title sharing & suggestions, sync & save, etc.

Anyway, Jott is now in private beta - please take a look and let me know what you think.
