In the beginning, I imagined justLikeAPI to be nothing more than a simple API service. To my surprise, a lot of e-mails I got since were from end-users or companies interested in the service justLikeAPI provides but without the ability to work with .JSON or APIs at all.

Getting data in an excel format seemed to be a pretty popular demand as well. So, I decided to expand the offer justLikeAPI provides to include custom solutions as well.

Hopefully, this will prove to be a good choice and clients will appreciate this change 🤞✨

I knew that making a review scraping service won't be easy but I had no idea how often review websites change their designs. I expected them to try and block bot traffic but frequently changing templates were a bit of a surprise.

Luckily, I created a system for each platform my service supports so every time they do it I can promptly adapt my algorithms.

The last one was for Zomato and I'm happy to say that it was one of the fastest adaptations so far! 😊🎉

Today I've launched justLikeAPI on IndieHackers. My next goal to get launched on Hacker News and got to the front page! Here are the 3 lessons I'll pay attention:

1. Refine your website before launching.

2. Submit multiple times if you have to.

3. Don't pay attention to the haters. There will always be some negative commenters. Ignore them, try not to take it personally, and focus on the positive.

I'm excited for what comes next!

Today one of my first trial customers for justLikeAPI converted to paid. It felt amazing! I put great effort to achieve this. I was working hard including night and weekends. I am proud to say that because I'll be exactly where I want to be with my business.

It took a couple of months, but I'm finally done building the minimum viable product for justLikeAPI. I worked very hard mostly nights and weekends, and I coded the whole thing on my own that I'm the most comfortable with. In hindsight, there were a few features I built that probably could've waited until later. But I'm excited to start talking to customers and see what they think about the product so far!

I've read so many times that you should solve your own problem, and so last week I sat down to think about all the problems in my life. It turned out that I had quite a few problems worth solving, and the most interesting one led me to the idea for justLikeAPI!
