We launched our alpha version one week ago in a pay-what-you-want model. While most people didn't support us with a dollar amount, yesterday the first kind stranger gave us $2!

Even if it's not a lot of money, getting some money for something you've built feels amazing.

    any advice for people who think to start mess around in unity with no experience what so ever with game dev?

      If you have previous programming (e.g. web dev) experience, I recommend the tutorials in the official Unity website. For Blöcks, we use Godot, it's a free and open-source engine and I personally like it more than Unity. They also have great tutorials in their official docs. Check them out: https://godotengine.org/

    I'll try to keep an eye out for how you do with this pricing model.
    Personally, I earned $7 in a year+ for my product on a pay-what-you-want model... it just didn't work for me. Why? I really don't know.

    Anyway, congratulations of your milestone and good luck with your future efforts.

      Thanks! I guess it really depends on what kind of product you have and what industry you're in. Gaming is really different than your typical B2C or B2B SaaS tool.

      Agree!
      So this is an early alpha version of the game, and I think going for the pay-what-you-want pricing model is working out great for this case. So people can give it a try, and support us financially if they like what we're building and want to see it built. Kind of like combining Patreon into this but with less fraction.

      Once we release the final game, we'll set a fixed price though.
