After being on the App Store for 4 years and seeing the number of sales plummeting, I decided to fully rewrite the app, a 2.0 of sorts even though this was delivered as a totally new app on the App Store.
The main ideas being this rewrite were:
- to rewrite the project into modern Swift, the original project was written in Objective-C and was become annoying to update
- to change the pricing model from an upfront $1.99 purchase to an In-App Purchase
- to move the app from landscape mode to portrait, which felt more natural when playing on the phone
