Learn Azure

It may be sounds strange but I am finally create a website for my mobile app. Earlier I used my personal webpage in order to share mobile app website. There was just a link to download apps from AppStore/GooglePlay.

I started to participate in startup pitches and website of mobile app become required.

Why am I lived without website for mobile app? Because I am a backend/mobile developer! During 15 years of career in IT as a software developer I am almost didn't touch front-end and UI/UX design. Although have such skills.

It cost me about $120 to create design and landing page for mobile app. I found the developer and designer in one Russian-language community for startupers in Telegram.

8 months gone since launch and I reached 7k active users of Learn Azure mobile app. 6 or 8 months of this period I am mostly did not touch advertising or doing promotion.

Below, I summarize what was working in my niche of preparing for certification exams in IT:

• First post in private Facebook group that specialized in preparation for exams on Azure. That was to bring about 500 downloads in 2 days

• Posts in all Facebook groups about Azure. Not all of them passed the promotion, but in most cases post passed the moderation

• Google Ads! Last 2 months I spent about $300/mo in paid advertising. Before that I hired a marketer which created promotion designs and setup ad. Cost per install starts at 8¢ for Asian Google Play markets and about 1$ for USA/UK/Australia and West Europe.

I am glad to announce new version of Learn Azure v2.0

What’s new:

• Now it contains preparation tests for 3 exams inside one app:
  AZ-900, AZ-204 and AZ-400. There are more tests to come soon
• All bugs and mistakes in questions that was found by users and myself was fixed
• Dynamically changing colors of all controls and icons base on active exam you're currently learning
• Push-notifications added to notify you about “Time to learn”
• Number of tests, questions and articles was grown as well

At the moment there are 12,000+ users of iOS and Android versions of Learn Azure and this number is growing rapidly.

Happy to say that we reached 12, 000 downloads of our mobile app.

What we started to do to increase the number of users is ASO (App Store Optimization). We changed the screenshots, descriptions and added new keywords there.

And we launched paid ads, Google ads and Apple Search Ads. Now we understand which platform works for us better and how we can attract consumers.

Our goal is much more than this number. We look forward to fulfilling it!

Finally, I became ready to share my project with you. It’s name “Learn Azure”. Right now, it is a mobile app which helps users to prepare for Microsoft Azure exams and get certification from them.

Current project state:
Mobile app downloads during January-June 2021: 5000+ (GooglePlay), 4000+ (iOS)

Organic growth of users, without advertising: 850+/mo (iOS), 1400-1800+/mo (Android)

MAU: 650+ (iOS), 2100+ (Android)

Position in app stores search using niche keywords: TOP-2/3 in GooglePlay, TOP-2/10 in AppStore

Feedback: 20 positive feedback in GooglePlay, 2 positive feedback in AppStore, 245 likes in Facebook, positive feedback from users via personal messages in Facebook or Email
