Cut bounce rate by half (50% to 23%)

By delaying Login until a later stage, I was able to cut the bounce rate from over 50% to 23%.

The Sign in with Github button was replaced with Get started which allows users to try the first chapter without an account. Then if they like it, they can decide to Register.

Feb 4 is the day when I rolled this feature (noon) which explains why it's around 30%.

Would be interesting to know if this also impacts later Sales/subscriptions cause in fact you are Improving the loyality of the visitor this way 🤔

indeed.. need to wait to draw anything conclusive

It's interesting to see that even logging in with an oauth provider is a hurdle. I'm generally more willing to do it because I don't have to fill out a registration form to get in.

indeed it's surprising.. even though the login used to say: We don't send marketing emails
but still people would rather not login immediately

        Good job on the improvement!

Personally, I'm always hesitant to press the log in with GH as all my code (as well as the code of orgs I work for) even if the scopes are limited. I wonder if this is the case for more people and if that's what you are seeing.

You're right about the double GA tracking, thanks!
Though this was the only change (Get started rather than login) pushed on Feb 4 midday which explains the drop
