The last four weeks were a bit intense outside of Letters, so although I had just gotten back to it, I decided to take it easy and only work when I felt energized to do it. It wasn't an easy decision, though. The things that were draining my energy outside of Letters are the same things that motivated me to start working on something of my own in the first place, so I felt conflicted. In the end, I opted for the path that, from my perspective, allows me to keep taking joy from working on this project. I want it to be associated with calm and relaxing times. Still, I could put together some good work, although not in the volume I would like.
Not working on a JS-based project for a year means that you're probably ten major versions behind in every package you're using, so there was a lot of work to be done to upgrade all of them. Together with that, I could finish the base work on the main user flow of the app, set up mailing and DB correctly, and fix some minor things around CI/CD.
More importantly, I managed to convince a couple of friends to try the idea out with me, which was probably the most outstanding achievement of the past four weeks.
